Join Civitas teacher (and Backyard Shakespeare director) Eleanor Georges on Saturday, June 28, from 7:00–9:00 PM at the Presbyterian Church of Manchester for a lively exploration of one of Shakespeare’s finest histories, Henry IV, Part I.

Expect an evening of learning and literary delight as we consider the play's historical backdrop, the changes Shakespeare made to his sources, and the richness of his language. Eleanor Georges will walk us through a passage of the play, giving us an in-depth look at a portion of the text and a taste of what her Backyard Shakespeare students experience.

You could read the play before you come, or let the lecture be your introduction. (We can't promise that you won't go home wanting to read it, though!)

Whether you’re brushing up before a Backyard Shakespeare performance, reacquainting yourself with an old favorite, or simply in the mood for a rollicking good time, you’ll come away seeing Falstaff, Prince Hal, and the whole merry band in a new—and Gospel-infused—light.
